​​Kim is a graphite and colored pencil artist living in the beautiful mountains of North Georgia. Her work has been accepted into juried shows such as the Colored Pencil Society of America International Exhibition, the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine International Exhibition on Animals in Art, and the Southern Appalachian Artist Guild (SAAG) National Juried Show. She is a member of Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association (BRMAA), Blue Ridge Drawing Group, and a Signature Member of both the Colored Pencil Society of America and the Southern Appalachian Artist Guild.

Colored Pencil Techniques

New to colored pencils? 
Join me for an introductory-level session designed to give you the foundation you need to begin creating bold and vibrant artwork using this versatile medium.  During this lesson, you will:
  • ​​Discover what tools and materials will give you the best results. 
  • Experiment with different pencil brands and a variety of papers to find the perfect match to your drawing style. 
  • Learn several tips and techniques you can use to achieve intricate detail, realistic texture and luminous color.
  • Practice layering, blending, embossing, lifting, and burnishing through a series of step-by-step exercises. 
No drawing experience is necessary, and everything you need to complete the exercises during your session will be provided.  You will also go home with a kit of basic supplies that includes Prismacolor Premier colored pencils, blending tools, samples of paper, and more! ​
Lessons are​ offered by appointment at
​Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association and Art Center in
​Blue Ridge, Georgia
